blog 10

I feel like I could use data collection in a variety of ways when teaching. Realistically, I would like to get my future students opinions on a good deal of material. I want to see what the students will enjoy learning about in school. I could use a similar survey with parents and truly target a great plan to have a unique classroom.

In reviewing my classmates blog, I found a variety of interesting topics. All of my classmates had an interesting outlook on tools like diigo. Also seeing how my classmates highlighted certain texts within pages was helpful as well. It was also interesting to hear about my classmates interests, such as music and teaching.

I would ideally like to learn next about how to utilize virtual reality in class. The same applies for augmented reality. I feel this way because VR and AR can be very engaging methods to teach students with. As a bit of a millennial, I find it extremely fascinating.

Disclaimer: These photos were posted to the digitech website! I actually ended up accidentally attending because I use the Ihub as a study space and just happened to go in while Digitech was occurring. I was not disappointed and ended up learning a lot about information technology.

A flipped classroom is essentially an unorthodox teaching method that involves learning outside of class. This allows the student to utilize classroom time to have more hands-on approach with the material while in the classroom. Essentially, you are learning the lessons outside of class and using classroom time to collaborate and handle the material with a more dedicated learning environment. A solid example of this is doing homework in class.
Open educational resources are exactly what they sound like. These text based, freely accessible learning materials are very useful in the classroom. These resources can be utilized to gather text-based information to further your education. A solid example of this is jstor.org, which is an open library of journals, primary sources and books. https://www.jstor.org/
Working on my powerpoint assignments taught me a good deal of information. I learned how to hyperlink to other slides by disabling the linear format. I liked being able to learn new information and apply it towards something I had never done before. I disliked having to follow specific guidelines within the powerpoint.
