I feel like I could use data collection in a variety of ways when teaching. Realistically, I would like to get my future students opinions on a good deal of material. I want to see what the students will enjoy learning about in school. I could use a similar survey with parents and truly target a great plan to have a unique classroom.

In reviewing my classmates blog, I found a variety of interesting topics. All of my classmates had an interesting outlook on tools like diigo. Also seeing how my classmates highlighted certain texts within pages was helpful as well. It was also interesting to hear about my classmates interests, such as music and teaching.

I would ideally like to learn next about how to utilize virtual reality in class. The same applies for augmented reality. I feel this way because VR and AR can be very engaging methods to teach students with. As a bit of a millennial, I find it extremely fascinating.

Ilp digitech

https://voicethread.com/share/12398467/

Disclaimer: These photos were posted to the digitech website! I actually ended up accidentally attending because I use the Ihub as a study space and just happened to go in while Digitech was occurring. I was not disappointed and ended up learning a lot about information technology.

A flipped classroom is essentially an unorthodox teaching method that involves learning outside of class. This allows the student to utilize classroom time to have more hands-on approach with the material while in the classroom. Essentially, you are learning the lessons outside of class and using classroom time to collaborate and handle the material with a more dedicated learning environment. A solid example of this is doing homework in class.
Open educational resources are exactly what they sound like. These text based, freely accessible learning materials are very useful in the classroom. These resources can be utilized to gather text-based information to further your education. A solid example of this is jstor.org, which is an open library of journals, primary sources and books. https://www.jstor.org/
Working on my powerpoint assignments taught me a good deal of information. I learned how to hyperlink to other slides by disabling the linear format. I liked being able to learn new information and apply it towards something I had never done before. I disliked having to follow specific guidelines within the powerpoint.

Using Diigo, I have learned many useful skills. I have learned how to highlight and annotate certain texts within articles. I have also learned how to share these within my group and that has helped me utilize these texts and be able to respond to them. I feel like these skills could help me in my future employment endeavors by showing understanding to my coworkers of how exactly we can work together to utilize this tool.

I have learned a lot of skills using twitter. I feel like twitter is beneficial and teaches you how to be social in that sort of online environment. The benefits of using twitter are the ability to socialize and have fun while engaging in a unique form of social media. I have not experienced many issues yet.

I have acquired a couple of new schools to create a website. I feel like I have just generally gotten better at web design. It was difficult to navigate the website at times and to correctly organize everything the way in which I wanted to. I feel like this skill can be utilized in my future career when it becomes time to actually make a serious website. I can improve my overall understanding and literacy of website creation.
It is important for technology to be able to adapt with learners who may have certain issues. Many learners are faced with everyday troubles that may put them in socially uncomfortable situations. It may be difficult for some parents and teachers to find the right software for some students. It is important that the teachers and students persevere and find that right tool.

Teacher pages on a school website can be done well but usually seem to be poor. I normally will see the information about the teacher, such as where they grew up and attended school. Teacher pages should be an informative look into the life of the teacher and how they go about teaching. In these websites you can publicly find out about the teachers interests and get a glimpse into the life of who is teaching your children.
Teachers utilize technology in many ways. One of the most important ways is classroom management. Teachers utilize certain apps like focusme or edmodo in order to make sure that there students are working more efficiently and themselves too. Teachers also utilize websites such as facebook pages in order to communicate better with there kids.
I feel that one application that I witnessed in virtual sandbox that could be utilized in the classroom is actually virtual reality. I believe that students must have an outlet to release some steam in terms of just getting out of the classroom. I believe there is no better way to do this than to actually enter a different reality. This can help spark a child's imagination and give them the outlook of that school can be a reward system.

For my project, I decided to do the design section with the digital audio workstation, Logic Pro X. Logic has been an integral part of my life, as I was a young kid who showed interest in music and the general creation of music. This can be utilized in the classroom in many ways, but as mentioned in the video, it is important to give young kids the opportunity to get creative in this fashion. Logic can be very fun for children and can be a cool skill for young kids to obtain.

Learning to use Diigo has been a very interesting experience. My main dislike with the extension has to do with just the general fluency of it all. Sometimes it glitches and makes it nearly impossible for me to use. I do like the hands-on experience and being able to interact with other classmates within the plug in.

So far blogging has been a very informative experience. I like being able to write and having guidelines to guide my thought process. I dislike the idea though that we have to follow certain protocols or we fail. I have learned throughout this experience that in order to be successful in this assignment, I must properly follow all of the guidelines

An interesting web 2.0 tool that we have not used in class is Skype. Skype is a way to communicate with your peers via video chat and phone call. It can be useful in the classroom, especially in a virtual learning environment. Skype can be helpful in communicating when it is not possible to speak in person. Here is a link to skype: https://www.skype.com/en/

When I first downloaded Twitter, I was 14. I really had no idea what I was doing. Fortunately, I was able to communicate with some of my favorite artists from around the world, which I thought was super cool. Twitter is a great way to network in a not-so-serious way. You can use it as a casual way to communicate with people through hashtags and memes.

The digital divide is quite interesting. It affects students in school because some students can't afford the digital privileges some of us have. Poverty is a big cause of the digital divide and this is unfortunate due to the fact that it is just a class issue. When I am teaching I want to be mindful of if I am teaching children who can't afford any of this.

Software-wise, I want my students to be able to experience Microsoft home. I would like my students to use these because they are essential to having an educational career, as we generally use these. I would also like my children to have kindle. Kindle is the future and will keep students interested in reading. I believe reading to be an essential part of learning consistently, as well as creativity.

I personally feel like I would be a solid high school teacher. This is due to the fact that I feel that I am not too great with smaller children and can relate more to high school kids. Kids in high school just generally are snarkier and I feel like I would be able to talk to them as if they were adults and they would appreciate that. Sometimes high school students think they are smarter than everyone and I have been there so it would be a solid fit.
The C-palms tool I feel I could best utilize as a musical educator is MU.912.C.1.3. This tool is utilized to section off instruments and to group them by their common traits and world influence. This will be important as a musical educator because my students will have to understand the origin of these instruments in order to play and understand them. This tool will be utilized to help my students become more cultured with the instruments they play.
I feel like the newsletter taught me a great deal on how to organize a newsletter for my future students. I learned how to use columns which was extremely helpful. I also got frustrated by the tediousness of the assignment tools as sometimes they would not function in the way I wanted to. All in all it was a fun assignment in which I learned new skills.

Using Microsoft word as a student is a pretty common practice. While growing up, most of my teachers made me use word, although I hated it. Now it seems like a very useful skill to have. This is due to the fact that it is just so common in today's workforce.

Copyright and fair use are an interesting topic that goes along with all this. It is very important to know when you are infringing and when you are not. Today, many people make youtube videos that get copystrike marks on them because they don't know how to utilize fair use. In general it is widely accepted through use of parody law and other similar ventures. Just don't be so blatant is my point.

In order to fix academic dishonesty we need to hold the students accountable. We also need to dive deeper into the psychology of it and figure out what made these students feel a lack of motivation with their work. Lack of funding is a tough problem to fix because it is institutionalized. I think that in general if our school board is more mindful of where they put their money then it can be fixed to some degree.

Teachers and students using technology in the classroom is pivotal. As technology progresses, so does the classroom and the resources available. Teachers utilize these resources in order to make sure their students are learning as much as possible. Technology also helps make school a bit more fun for students.
The education standards provided by the ISTE are intriguing. Basically they want every teacher to be able to demonstrate leadership in a certain fashion. The standard that is meaningful to me is citizen because I believe that all teachers should be able to demonstrate that they are an outstanding citizen. The one i disagree with is designer and that is because not every teacher will need this ability and can base their practices off of others.
To be a digital native means to have been born in the age where electronics and digital devices are of second nature to us. I agree that this term is valid. The differences between a digital native and a digital immigrant is pretty obvious as there is a literacy boundary. My future students will be incredible digitally literate.

Hello! My name is Jared Abramowitz. I am currently a senior enrolled at Florida State University, studying humanities. I play music and have constantly held that passion near and dear to my heart. I grew up in the great city of Miami, Florida; which was a city that taught me a good deal growing up about urban life in a major metropolitan area.
My experience in educational technologies is not exactly vast. I grew up going to public schools so the funding was never all that great. I have my own vlog though, where I review music. Growing up, with funding low, I would generally use the education technologies that my school's would provide me with such as Pearson.
In this class, I plan to learn a great deal about education technologies and the many implications that come with it. I hope to learn how we as educators can use technology to our advantage. The rapid rate of technological growth that we are seeing in this day in age is truly magical and unique. It is important that we utilize this growth in order to better the future of our world and that all starts with the kids.
